Welcome aboard!

Hello there! I am Christina your fabulous vacation planner, but you can call me C.J. I grew up going on numerous family vacations- mainly road trips where we stayed at hotels, went sightseeing or visited amusement parks. Every so often we’d stay at an old resort and although those trips weren’t the most extravagant, they were always my favorites. I loved the formal dining room and being asked to choose my choice of potato at every meal. All entertainment was right in the hotel- magicians, comedians, bowling, trivia, mini golf it was wonderful! The resort was simple family fun, a slower paced bonding trip where we didn’t spend every minute frantically running from one attraction to the next. As we got a little older my parents were able to go out to enjoy some evening shows alone while still being in our hotel. The resort was in its final years then and when it closed, we never found one that sounded charming enough to live up to our expectations.

Fast forward many years to my first voyage on a cruise…

I was initially a little hesitant to sign myself up for a vacation on a ship. Sure, cruises sounded like fun and they brought back fond memories of my favorite resort, but I wasn’t so sure I’d enjoy being at sea. Once I boarded the ship, I couldn’t believe I avoided taking a cruise for so long! Just like the resort, there were shows, trivia, and even mini golf! No one offered me a choice of potato at dinner, but the food was plentiful and delicious. A perk of cruising was the shore excursions which gave me a chance to explore each port a little before we sailed on. Although there were no children in my party, I did meet lots of families who were raving about how much fun their kids were having in the on-board camp program. Growing up I would have loved to have camp on vacation and I’m guessing my parents would have enjoyed a little kid free time too.

How much did I love that first cruise?

It was such a positive experience that I knew many of my future trips would be cruises. I spent a lot of time daydreaming about future cruises and learning about the different features on each ship. I’m looking forward to sharing my favorite things about cruising with you.
